  • Renewing or extending the date in my arrival stamp

Hey, I arrived in the US yesterday from Australia with a friend to travel across the country over 6 months via bicycle touring, we shipped over the bikes with us, the problem is my friend got 6 months stamped on his passport where as i only got 3 months. We both have valid B2 visas. And we had already booked return flights 6 months from now which we cant change.

Due to very limited internet access and no set address filing a I-539 is not an option.
I have been told my best option is to fly over to canada and back (will be from portland to Vancouver and back) in a day which will make my visa get stamped out and then re stamped when i get back into the US where i will hopefully get a nicer immigration officer allowing me to finish my planned trip. Is this possible or will they deny my entry due to flying out and back into the US in one day?

That's your best bet under the circumstances.. though bear in mind i94s generally dont get extended by returning from Canada or Mexico; but you can try.
Did you explain your purpose of stay to the officer at POE? Any of your previous US stays approach the maximum duration allowed?

Yeah i explained everything including that i already had return flights booked etc. He just didnt seem to believe me and was very suspicious of my reason.

And yes im worried that me flying in and out of canada in one day will only make it look more suspicious

Then it's odd to get a 3-mo stay on an Oz B2. But your best bet is as outlined below. Good luck!
