  • DS 160 complications for family members coming for my white coat ceremony

    Hi all!

I am an F-1 student. I graduated from a university in the states at the end of last year. Now I am back home until my US dental school starts in August this year (I have already renewed my I-20 and VISA for the new program). I am now helping my family members fill out their DS-160(B2) so that they can come with me for my white coat ceremony. So far I have the following questions:

    1. For the US point of contact, I filled out my info since I have already signed a place to live in the states. However, I am not currently in the US. Should I change it to something else?
    2. Since I put myself as the US point of contact, when answering " do you have any other relative in the US", I put 'YES", but again, I am not in the US yet.
    3. For people traveling together, I am most likely going to travel with them, but I am afraid if I count myself in, it would be somewhat contradictory to the information I put for the two questions above. So I have not included myself in the application.

I was about to submit the application, but I had the second thought about theses complications, so I am here. Please let me know what you think! Thank you!

    1. Whatever you have entered is correct. You don't need to change anything.
    2. That's fine. Still you to select Yes.
    3. That's for visa interview purpose. You don't need to count yourself as a traveler with them.
This is not a legal advice. Use at your own risk.
