  • Visitor visa for parents/Mumbai cousulate/sponsorer details

My in-laws submitted their application stating me (son-in-law) as their sponsorer. My wife is employed and we both own a house in US. To increase visa stamping chances...
Should the sponsorer name in application be corrected from my name to my wife's name as she is the blood relationship? If so what is the procedure? Kindly let me know what should my in-laws do as they have already submitted the application to mumbai counsulate. If need be point me to other links.
    Counsulate : Mumbai
Our Visa Status : Green Card
Month of interview : March 2006
Purpose : Visiting us for 6 months as visitors
A detailed answer is highly appreciated. Thanks in advance for your time and efforts.

I was in the same boat as yours. My salary was 70K per anum and my wifes was 35K/yr. Hence I sponsored my in-laws.
They got the visa in mumbai consulate this month.
    I dont think it matters,

Thank you new_guy for your time, I appreciate it. More clarifications...

I read in the forum earlier that there is no co-sponsorship and that it has to be on one name only. Of the documents that I already sent

      1. Bank statement is joint a/c - has both our names
      2. property is joint ownership - has both our names
      3. Invitation letter - only my wife's name
      4. Affidavit of support - only my wife's name
      5. Pay stubs - only my wife's

*Is it OK to just re-send affidavit of support and Inivitation letter with my pay stubs.*

Kindly clarify as soon as possible. Thanks once again.
