Documents required for renewal of visitor visa

Hello we (my self and wife) had a visitor visa for 10 years issued in July-2006. The same will expire in July-2016. During 2006 to 2011 we have visited three times and stayed for 6 months each time. We are right now in India. We have consulted several consultants about document requirements for renewal of visa, but each one gives a different answer. Could any one help in this matter?
Main question is
1. Whether we require sponsorship letter from our daughter (who is Citizen now) this time also?
2. Is the entire process of visa renewal is same as new visa issuance?
