  • Visitors visa - help needed

I am planning to take my mom along with me to USA. She retired last week. She has some cash savings and owns a house. I too have 5k+ USD cash in my us account. I came back to India last year after applying my extension.it got approved and now going back. I am thinking of self sponsoring my mom , provide supporting docs for her financials, also show my stamped visa n my travel tickets , lease document for a apartment blocked by me, she would be coming along with me stay for few months n come back to India. Any idea if my mom visitors visa would be approved?

Most likely there will not be issue as long as she has strong ties to home country

How much cash savings she has or you have, has very little bearing on B2 decision. The primary thing the officer will look for is the reason for your mom to return back to home country. What about your dad? is he not traveling?

This is my opinion not legal advice.

Thanks Raghvi for ur opinion. My mom is a widow. She can't survive the winter climate so she has no plans of staying more than 4 months.

In filling ds 160, i ran into few questions which i am not sure of the answer.
US point of contact name and address details..as i am in india right now, can i give a friends address?

Address where you will stay at US - i have blocked an apartment. Can i provide that address?
