Hello,

When i went for my biometrics for US visa, i realised for the first time the importance of a surname. It took me a while to understand what it means and its impact in my DS160. I have a visa interview scheduled for this week . I am applying b1/b2 visa. I just want to know will it impact my visa application.

If you don't have a last name and just first name, that first name will be used as your last name and your first name will be 'FNU'.

It would have been the best if you got that fixed in your passport before starting US visa process.

But that is how it is going to be now.
