  • language selection while interview?

My younger brother took an appointment earlier for my parents for April 3 in Delhi. He says he didn't get any option for language selection. So, is it assumed that its in English by default. Interview Confirmation Letter available online doesn't state any language; it states date, time, place. Is their any way to know the language?
My father understands English; but some problem in speaking. Is it possible that in consulate parents request and they get queued up in Hindi interview line?

Language selection is definitely there. If he did not select anything, that means it is in English.

Best thing would be to cancel this appointment and schedule a new one. Otherwise, he is just taking a chance of an interpreter being available at the time of interview.

If you are not comfortable with English interview, cancel the appt right away and have another one local language.

Actually when you choose Delhi as your place of residence you don't get a language option. In fact you don't get this for any other consulate except for the states that come under Chennai consulate. Check it out at vfs-usa.co.in/frame.aspx. What I heard is that there are language interpreters at all the counters at least in Delhi and Mumbai.

            language selection

Since my mother also doesn't know English ,& there was no option for language while taking an appointment ,so I mailed Delhi consulate for the same and they replied that there are consular officers who know Hindi too.
I think that solves your problem.
