  • Applying for B1/B2 for parents having an approved I-130 filed by grandfather

    Hi,

I need some advice and suggestions from people who have experienced a similar situation as below:

I am currently in US on L1B visa that is limited only till Nov 2017. My employer has not filed for my GC. I intend to invite my parents on visitor visa to US. Now the issue is that my grandfather had filed for GC for my parents long time ago whose I-130 is approved with priority date in Feb 2007. With the current processing time, their priority date will become current only in next 3-4 years time.

So wanted to know how are the chances of them getting B1/B2 visa based on the papers that I submit (eg: invitation letter, my W2, etc)? The only purpose of their visit is to visit me and my wife here in the US. So the intent is temporary only.

    Please share your experiences...

It is still possible for them to get the visitors visa.

However, they must not hide the fact that someone has filed their green card petition which is pending. Otherwise, it is a big problem.

Thanks for the update. Ofcourse, we won't be hiding anything in the form and to the office at time of interview. Also, the fact is that their petition is not pending. They have an approved I-130. Only thing is that the priority date is not current yet.

I wanted to see if anyone had similar case and how was their experience?

Please update here...It will be of much help. Thanks.
