  • Visitor's Visa reason for mother

Hi, I am currently permanent resident here in US and my husband is US citizen.

-We petitioned our son 1yr5mos for I-130 and his interview will be this June 20,2016. So we're planning that instead I'm gonna go home and pick up my son in the phil, we're planning to let my mom accompany my son going here in the US.

the reason that I cant go home even if I have green card is I have a job here that I cannot leave and the ticket back n forth is so expensive so we're trying to "save"

-My mom will apply for a visitor's visa and her interview will be this June 23, 2016.

Now my question is, is that a valid reason for her to come here? her reason will be "to accompany his grandson here in US and will only stay here for 3 weeks for just my son to settle here with me and his dad. She also wants to celebrate her birthday here in US with us this July before she comes back to the Philippines."

I left my son last Sep2015 so its been 9months that he stayed with my mother. is this enough reason or is this valid for the CO to believe?

This comes across as a thinly disguised 'reason' to get your mom to the US. Assuming your mom intends to return back to Phil and not just buy a one way tkt, wouldn't the cost of the ticket be about the same as if you were traveling to Phil?

Lots of Filipinos try to use visitor visa as an excuse to get a sister or a niece or a parent to "accompany" a minor to the US. The US embassy is familiar with that approach.

yes I've been reading a lot of the same reasons.

I am thinking to try this first then if she's gonna be denied that's the time I will go home and pick him up.

what if she will just say that she's gonna visit me for 3 weeks? to celebrate her birthday here and experience 4th of july? can she just say that without mentioning that she's gonna accompany my son?

I am just worried that if she's not gonna mention my son, that they will track the immigrant status of my son also.

so what would be the best reason?

thank you for your reply I appreciate it.
