It is very common. You don't need to worry at all about first time visa rejection this happens with lots of folks.

Here are suggestions

1) If you know the reason why VISA was rejected first time, you should work on those points and address it this time. (Eg : Finanace)
2) Many people find it difficult to understand american accent first time. They prefer interpreter.
3) Make sure you keep all required docs with you.
