B1/B2 Visa Applying Question

I am applying for a B1 Visa to attend a Business Conference. I have started the process and have scheduled my appointment. I applied for L1B Visa 12 years back through my previous employer, but that got rejected stating I don't qualify for that category. I wanted to ask if that rejection will have any impact on my current application?
I have mentioned that in my application and in these 12 years I have never applied for US Visa there was no need for it.
