Did any one succeeded in taking the appointment for parents by using add applicant?

Hi

As we all aware August'06 month appointments are opened for Telugu Language. I tried to book the appointment at the same time for both my father and mother by choosing "Add Applicant". But as the site was giving error message I have continued and took separate appointments. Both got appointment on the same date with 15 mins duration gap. Will it be a problem or is it fine? Wanted to know if any of you have faced this situation before.

We were able to add both my parents for the same interview. This is the weirdest site I have ever seen so I wouldn't be surprised about some thing like this though. Since it's on the same day, I guess it should be fine

I guess it should be fine. My friend and his wife were in the same situation sometimes back when they appointment in the same date with 1/2 GAP but, they were allowed to go to the window together.

So, take it easy maan and it should be fine

Hi

This afternoon since I saw August 1st dates are still available. I cancelled my dad appointment and started making new appointment. Asusual the VFS site started giving errors and not able to proceed further.

When our luck is bad I think we cant do any thing other than praying god. Dont know which software company has developed this website. They did not even do basic testing.

Hope I will get appointment for both my mother and father atleast August 3 or 4th.

Oh Kiran I am so sorry to hear this . Why don't you ask your parents to go to the VFS office and do it in person? This way they can get a date ASAP? Also don't worry August dates will last a long while. My dad used to go to the VFS office every day and they kept saying all appointments are gone till the end of the year. Not that they have a lot of information but it might help you get a date.

Are there chances of getting an earlier appointment dates if one goes to the VFS office? I mean earlier than what you can get on the web? Is it worth trying?
Any advice will be helpful

As far as I know, the VFS office uses the same website we have to. So the only advantage with going to them is hoping they wont get the same errors as you have been experiencing. I could not get a Tamil apt. for my mother through the website. So she went to the VFS office in Chennai, had to get a token and wait in line only to be told that she has to keep trying through the website till some date opens up. Hopefully you will have better luck.

However, I doubt that VFS is using the same system as we. They might have a system that allows them to fix appointments for people. Reason I am saying this is because a lot of times I see the early dates available but, when I try to block the appointment for one of those dates, they never appear in my calendar (if I go back and check the available dates the dates are still present)

The dates that are actually available to you are the ones that show up on the calendar either while adding an applicant or while rescheduling. Checking on availability and then trying to secure the same date via any of the 2 above steps does not always work. You can try your luck at VFS but this is what they told my mother in Chennai - that they use the same website and if there are no dates available then there are no dates available. The lady told her that in the time my mother was sitting there talking some date might have opened up and asked her to go back and keep trying. If this was incorrect information and they can help you out thats great! I sure hope they can! Good luck!

any ideas around the best time to try for the available appointments ... is there any specific time around which the dates are made available by some batch that runs in the VFS system or is it just random?

I tried US CT from 8:30 am till 11:00 pm. I was always lucky with dates from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm. That doesnt mean anything I am sure..it just so happened that thats when I found the open slots. During the day in India, the travel agent would try. I think it all depends on someone else somewhere in the world cancelling or rescheduling their appointment..not very sure about how they open up these slots.

Hi Kiran,

I had the same issue. Whenever i add my parents together, the dates shown are for English interview (but i am looking for Tamil). I canceled and got their appointments separately for Tamil (this is the only way i could get a tamil interview for both, i fiddled around for long, no luck). Their interview times are 15 min apart on the same day. Hoping they will be allowed to appear at the same time in the window. Fingers crossed.

Is this a problem or Any others in the same situation???
