My inlaws applied for visitors visa at Chennai and were granted, I do not know all the questions but these are a few.
1. Who lives in USA?
2. where does your son live?
3. Has he been to USA before? When?(My husband had been to USA before).
4. How many children do you have?Asked their details.
5. You both were teachers? Asked for their subjects.
6. You get Pension?.Asked for the papers.
They got the visa.

Congratulations! I have a question please clarify.
What if we don't have w2s for the past 3 years? Because i started working just last year. And this year i want to invite my father. I have only one W2.But one of the requirement in the paper works for the sonsoror says we need W2's for the past 3 years. My father got an appointment for VISA on Apr 24th'06. I am a bit tensed now. Please give me some tips.

It is ok if you have only one W2 form. My husband had only one W2 since he started working from last year onwards.I had asked the same question earlier before in immihelp.

This is the uestion that I asked :
I came to USA in dec 2005 in L1 visa. Now I have applied for my parents visa. I have received only one W2 form. Is there some letter that I should get from the IRS stating why I do not have the previous 2 years or is this ok?
Please someone help me out.


This is the answer that I got:

Use the one u have. No need of any letters.

There is no need to get tensed. Just tell your father to answer all the questions that they ask truthfully.

Do you want to know about the documents that I sent for them from here? The documents that they got from there were prepared by a travel agent. I can give you the details opf the forms I sent from here if you want.

I understand that 1st step is application and processing fees at the HDFC.
DO they fill the form DS-156 now or when they r called for the interview.??

You need all the documents only at the time of the interview. According to my understanding you need only the application and the HDFC receipt. I can help you with what all documents you need to send from here once you get the interview date.I think it is best for you to ask this question in a new thread so that someone with more experience can help you.

Pay the fees at HDFC. Get the receipt number. Go online to VFS site or visit any local VFS centers to schedule appt. U need to fill DS 156 ND DS 157 to schedule the appt. To fill the forms, u need to know all the passport details..

Once u have scheduled the appt, start preparing the docs. Visit the visitor Visa section of this site to get help on this.
