Is sponsor documents needed if tourist has sufficient funds

Hi,
My in-laws will be applying for a visitor visa to visit us in the USA. They are retired and are financially well off. Do I need to send them the sponsor documents (my tax returns, pay stubs, bank statements, etc), if they can produce documentation showing sufficient funds for their trip? I read elsewhere on this forum that sponsor documents is not mandatory if the tourist can sponsor themselves, but I wanted to know if anyone has successfully obtained their tourist visa without having/showing sponsor documents.

If your in-laws are financially well off and can pay for the trip themselves, none of your sponsorship documents are required.

You can just send them an invitation letter.

In fact, those who can take care of the trip expenses themselves have a stronger chance than the ones who need help from others. Therefore, nothing to worry.
