  • I-134 who should support parent/brother's B2 - me, spouse, or both?

I am a naturalized citizen and my wife is a born US citizen. My mother and brother are applying for B2 tourist visas to visit me and my spouse. We want to provide them with I-134 Affidavits of Support. I read on this website that it is better for the closest relative to provide the affidavit, so I put my name as the sponsor on their DS-160s. But most of the bank accounts and property are in my spouse's name. So,

    1. should I fill out the affidavits in my name and just include mine and her bank accounts/property jointly, since we are husband and wife and file our tax return jointly,
    2. should my spouse fill out the affidavits and include my bank accounts
    3. should we each provide separate affidavits?

Thank you for your help! Their interview is this Friday!

Thank you! That's what I did and just in case I had my wife (US born Citizen) sign the cover letter for the supporting documents in addition to me signing.

I will let you know how the interview went.

We'd be curious how the interview goes and if the CO looks at any documents. Despite what you've read and heard, there is no such thing as sponsoring a tourist visa. The visa officer interviews the applicant and determines eligibility for a visa based on the interviewee's credibility.
