  • Tourist Visa for my parents

    Hi everyone!

My husband and I got married last year, but we never had the actual wedding celebration (because we wanted to have a destination wedding), it was only in city hall. I got approved for the green card in February this year. My husband is American citizen (born in USA), his parents are citizens as well (born in USA).

Next year in May we are having our dream destination wedding in Punta Cana.
Before we go to Dominican Republic, we would like my parents, my sister and her boyfriend to come to USA to visit us, to see where we live, how is the life here...and then we want to go together to Dominican Republic for the wedding. Their whole trip will be 2 weeks (USA and Dominican Republic). Because we live with my in-laws, we decided that it's the best if they are their sponsors, they are both retired but they have high pensions. They will be paying for all of their expenses (flight, hotel in Dominican Republic, food, they will be staying in our home in USA)

How can they fill out the I-134 form? We looked for a line for retirement, but there was only a line for employment.

Also when is the best time for them to apply for visa if the wedding is in May?

    Thank you so much!

It's not good idea for your in-laws to sponsor your family's trip that's very unusual
1.Under employment you can write retired or n/a
    2. You can schedule interview at the end of this year or any time.
This is not a legal advice. Use at your own risk.
