Visitor Visa + Language Help in Mumbai

Hello, My mother has a Visitor Visa interview at Mumbai consulate on 23rd March. We have mailed all the documents in advance to the Mumbai consulate as required by the consulate.

She does not know English and can only speak HINDI. Do we need to specify in advance about need of an interpreter or on the day of interview before entering the consulate. I did not see any option for interview when taking appointment.

I have also an appointment the same date for H1 visa and should be able to accompany her till inside the consulate I believe.

After my interview, Can I request to be present during her interview?

Can anyone recommend, with the new appointment system, how early one needs to be present at the consulate and is there a very long queue in Mumbai consulate. We have appointment scheduled for 8:15 AM

Mumbai consulate has interpreters at all counters. You should be there at least 1 hour before the appointment.
