  • Parents and Sister got VISA

    Hi Everyone,

Wanted to share with you that my parents and sister obtained 10 year multiple visitor visa from New Delhi embassy on 7th march 2006.
Without any doubts this website helped a lot with understanding of the process and preparation for the documents and interview. Thank you so much.

To brief you about the process of interview at New Delhi embassy:
    1) Interview time was 9AM , they reached around 8:15 and was allowed to stand in line at 8:30 AM.
    2) In the line one official personal will tell everyone to arrange there documents and in sequence before reaching the first window.(Sequence of docs will be like Passport containing DS 156, 157, Draft)
    3) At the first window outside, the officer asked Dad about his profession.
    4) Next they had their security checks where they were not even allowed to carry the car (remote)key. They submitted that and got the token for it.
    5) Next they had their fingure prints which took about 15 to 20 mins.
    6) Next they proceded to the line for VISA interview. There were around 50 people ahead of them.
    7) Interview was in English, my Dad and sister knew english so Consulate started the interview by asking Questions to Dad about his visit to Dubai and job profile there.
7.1 Why you want to go to US?
7.2 When was the last time you went to US?
7.3 (To my sister) How long you working in India?
    7.4 What is your salary?
7.5 (To Dad) What is your salary?
During the interview none of the supporting document were asked.
Thats it, they exchanged thanks and came out.
My family feedback was they were giving VISA to most of the people that day. And if you give answers to the point then there should not be a problem.

I am glad that everything went well.
All the best to everyone preparing for it.
    Take Care
    Kiran

My experience at New Delhi is similar. The day I went for my visa appt. I didnt see anyone rejected while I was there.

Basically, just to the point questions, and to the point answers.
