previous employment for retired

Hi,

My dad retired in 2012 dec.

he was in gov job and job was transferrable every 3-4 years.

if i mention address as his last posting city while he retired, what would be date from and to of employement?

would it be from job starting 35 years back? or posting date to that city i.e. 2005?

Also what all education details i need to fill in education, he is 12th and diploma.

Please advice?
