B2 Visa with Pending Immigration Petition for my Wife

Dear Forum Friends,

I along with my Wife (30yrs), 2 kids (3.5 yrs and 3 months age) and Parents ( 69yrs and 66 yrs) have applied for US B2 Visa. Our interview is scheduled for Aug 18, 2016.


My Brother and his wife (my wife's sister as well) are U.S Citizens and will be hosting us through the trip.

My query is that my Wife has filed a petition for US Immigration under F4 in 2013 and according to visa bulletin, it will take around 13 more years to complete the process (based on the historical data on Visa Bulletin).


My Parents have previous history of US travel twice and their 5 years visa got expired in 2013.

I have traveled to Malaysia, Thailand, Dubai and Iran for tourism.

I am working in Software Company since last 5 years as Manager Marketing and annual income around 15000 US$.

What are the pros and cons of my case. What is the possibility of my Visa rejection?

Visa officer will look at your strong ties back to home country, financial stability etc. You have to specify in DS-160 form for pending immigrant visa application. Visa approval chances are very poor but there is no harm to try.

Thank you for your response. I am already self sponsoring the trip. Also, I have mentioned the I-130 filed in the DS-160 application.
