Submit Documents atleast 5 days b4 interview?

I had a question related to submitting documents for Visitor visa in MUMBAI CONSULATE.

My parents have scheduled an appointment for Visitor visa in Mumbai consulate. They took appointment by going to the application center (offline appointment) and have already submitted DS-156, DS-157 and the required fees.

I have read about submitting sponsor's documents 5 days before the day of interview for Online appointments. However, I don't know about the same for offline appointment.

The following link on Immihelp states that the documents have to be submitted 5 days b4 interview:

I am confused since I don't know for sure if they have to submit the documents b4 the interview OR take it with them during the interview.

whatever vfs office took from you is enough. rest is to carry for interview.
