  • Need help with parents 2 times rejected visa

My parents applied for B2 visa back in OCT 2000 - When i was on F2 and my husband was on F1 visa. My sister who was then 18 had also applied for the same visa. My father is a businessman (owns his own business) and mother is a housewife. Reason was to visit me and my husband and attend my husband's graduation ceremony. My father was sponsoring himself with the trip etc... But i think since my sister also applied then they all were rejected under 214(b). They also said that attending son in law's graduation ceremony is not a valid reason to go to usa!!!!

Then my mom applied for her B2 visa back in may 2004 -At that time I had started working on H1 so i sponsored her paperwork... Her reason was to visit daughter and son in law since they cannot come visit us... At that time she was only asked :-
    1. why do you want to go to usa...
ans. Visit my daughter and son-in-law
    2. how long do you want to stay there....
    ans. 2-3 months
    3. is your daughter pregnant?
    ans. no
Interviewer said Next time apply with your husband and if your daughter is pregnant we will issue the visa on that basis....
I couldnt believe the last sentence they said.... from this forum i understand that delivery should not be mentioned even if that is the case.....

Now after 6 years they want to apply once again for their B2 visa......
My only sister is now married to a US citizen and is a greencard holder and live in USA too... While my husband and I are awaiting our greencard.. we are both working on EAD....

    I frankly need your opinion...
    1. Should my sister or I sponsor their visa...
    2. Since both their daughters live in USA is it a problem
    3. My Dad still is active in his business while mom conducts yoga and gym classes for ladies at home... Both are very active back in india... is this a good enough reason to return back...?
    4. They are only planning on coming here for a month or so.... does short term of stay help in getting the visa...

    your input is highly appreciated....

    Thanks,
    SuCo

    1. Chances improve if your parents finance their own trip and neither of you sponsors.Your GC holder sister can simply send an invitation letter.

2.It could be, if they have no children living in India.(Family ties)

    3. Consulars focus on two major issues that will compel someone to return;
occupational and family. If they have no other family(children, old parents)
in India, your dad must be able to show a major role in his running business
with substantial income, that will compel him to return.

    4. The duration should match the purpose of the visit. Most parents
are expected to stay 3-4 months with their children when they are spending
so much money to visit US. Since your dad will be showing a running business, he must state a short period of stay ;about a month so he
can return and take care of the business.

Daugter in law pregnant is valid reason?

Should we assume that its good to say to visa officer that our daughter-in-las is expecting; so it would be good if we are there.. It will help them. Is it true ?
In my case, I am on L1 visa since Dec; my wife on L2. And, we are inviting our parents on B2.
