I have scheduled interview for my mother in end of april. My father decided not to come to the US at the time. Now he changed his mind and would lik to acompny my mother. Is it possible to add another applicant to my mothers interview slot by paying visa fees ?

Hey I am not sure but I remember reading a question very similar to this in the FAQ section of the chennai US consulate website. I would suggest look up their.

But from what i remember reading you might have to cancel that and take a new appointment if you wish both of them to go at the same time for the interview.

You have to cancel the appointment and redo the whole thing. My MIL's passport came early and we booked for May 9th, when my FIL's passport came we could not add him. Had to cancel and create a group appointment.

Luckily we got May 19th yesterday.

Do I have to re-schedule or cancel ?

I understand when re-scheduling it will not let me add new applicant ? Is it ok to cancel first and create new appointment ?

No. YOu cannot add another person later unless you cancel the whole one and start a new with all applicants together.

This is rediculous that we can not add another person from the same family. God save all of us from this VFS stupidity.
