My wife and myself applied for tourist visa (B-2) Our appointment was scheduled for 11 am on 1st August 2016 at Chennai. I was well prepared and carried all my supporting financial statements and my daughters university account statements, but the Visa officer did not ask for anything. The interview lasted for less than 3 minutes.
VO: Good Afternoon
Us : Good Afternoon
VO: What is the purpose of your visit.
Us: Our daughter is studying at Umass Amherst and we plan to visit her.
VO: Umass , ( Appreciatively)
VO to me : You sir, are you still working or retired.
Me: I am retired.
VO: Then how…..
Me : I have a lot of investments… (I start to answer but the VO doesn`t show any interest in my answer)
VO to my wife: You madam ,you are a teacher, are you still working.
My wife: Yes, I work in a school for slow learners.
VO: In US we call it special education.
VO: What subject is your daughter studying.
US : Electrical and Electronics.
VO: Do you have any other children
Us. We have two other daughters, both of them in Bangalore.
VO: Approved.
