Receipt Number

Hi!
I was wondering how many digits/alphabets is the receipt number? My father in law paid the fess at Bangalore HDFC and he gave me a anaplhabet followed by 6 digits as the receipt # but when I try to take an appointment it says invalid receipt #.

I did read in one of the posting that it is 10 digits but my father in law says thats this is the only # on it. Could someone kindly let me know where exactly to locate the receipt # on the HDFC receipt and how many digits is it?

I don't know where to find it because one of my friend paid the money and sent me the number. It is a 10 digit one and when I tried mine it worked.

Its the barcode number and usually starts with 9. (like 9000080747)

Use the number below the barcode. Leave the alphabet. Only 10 digit number required.

Do not get confused with Deposit Slip receipt number.
