    Hi,
I took appointment for my mother-in-law in English as I did not find any dates in Regional language (Tamil). Her visa appointment date is on March 24th in Chennai Consulate. She doesnt know how to talk in English. Will that be a problem during the interview? Will that reduce her chances to get visa?

If applicant can't speak English, try to get appt in your regional language.

I guess its too late to reschedule the appointment as the appt is on March 24th. Any suggestions on how to tackle this in the consulate? Does it mean that my MIL will get her visa rejected? Is anyone else in this situation?

U can ask for an interpreter. But there is no guarntee that u get one since u booked the appt in English. In that case ur MIL will be asked to come back with another appt.
