  • B1/B2 Visa -Impact of early return to USA on entry and green card

My parents visited me for 6 months this year, Jan - Jun. Now there is an important occasion in our house (kid's first birthday and house warming party) and I want them to join me again. If they left USA in Jun, can they return back in Sep (less than 6 months gap)? What is the impact on entry? I am also planning to apply green card for them next year, will this re-entry have any impact on GC process/approval?

Yes, they are likely to have problems. Returning too quickly is not a natural thing to do for pleasure visits and makes them
think you are a potential immigrant. space the two visits with at least a 4-5 month interval.
This is not a legal advice. Use at your own risk.

They could very well have problems entering. POE officers are looking for people who over use their visas or do not use them as they are intended. Spending more time here than in their home country, coming often and for extended periods of time, basically living here under the premise of visiting. It shows they may be trying to immigrate, which based on your mention of green cards would be correct.

This is my opinion and not legal advice. Use of this information is strictly at your own risk.
