  • B1 visa (Company sponsered for me) B2 visa (Wife)

    Hello guys,

Need some expert advise here- My company is sponsoring B1 visa for me. I want to take my wife along on B2.

    Questions-

    1) Can I schedule the appointment for both of us at the same time slot.

    2) Can the interview be given together? On what grounds she can give the interview as my interview would also be at the same time-slot and I would myself be waiting for visa ( I want to slot the interview at same time to cut on time going to Chennai consulate twice). Not sure if we both can give the interview together.

    3) What US contact information she needs to mention in her DS160 as she would be on B2 and would be traveling with me.

    OR,
    1) Shall I get my B1 processed from company first and then initiate the B2 visa for my wife?

    Please help!!

I would suggest to go for option 2.
This is not a legal advice. Use at your own risk.

Thanks for the reply. If I go for the second option then, On what grounds she can fill the DS160 and appear for the interview? As we do not have any relatives in US so she would not get invitation letter. What does she need to fill in the contact information of acquaintances in US (Sponsor).

Alternatively, If she says that she want to accompany me then what are the documents she need and any other special points to be taken care of (Spouse is working). Can she apply under B2 in this situation or do we need to apply for any other visa category?
