I am a 36 years old man working in a private organization. My own brother who is staying in USA since 10 years got a new house in USA and performing House Warming Ceremony, and I am invited along with my family. I have two kids. My brother is going to sponsor my entire family (myself, my wife and two minor kids) including travelling. He is on H1 VISA and working full time. We are planning for one month trip. How much chance is there for us to get VISA?

Yea am working for a IT company and I got a letter from my Company granting the leave. I even took a letter from the school of my kids and I am making an affidavit showing my own house, plot and vehicles. Are these documents enough to prove that I will definitely come back.

[QUOTE=jnk;467883]Depends on strong ties back to your home country, financial documents, what kind of job do you have?
I had my interview today, I took all the documents to prove my strong ties back. But she didn't verified any of the document and simply denied by just verifying our passports.
While verifying the passports, she asked me about my job and salary. Other than that she didn't asked or varied any documents. I was having my brother invitation, his sponsership document, his visa, his employment verification letter, his pay stubs, bank statement, his niew house docs. My office permission letter, kids school permission letter, my property docs. But nothing was asked and verified. Shall I apply once again and show all these before they ask me. Can I appy immediately once again. Plz suggest me to get through.

Originally posted by rcmax View PostDocuments don't matter, they rarely rely on them because they are 'manufacturable' , I am not saying you did. In your case your whole family was applying and that is the problem. There are no ties left because you can sell off your house and vehicles. If you apply alone there is a better chance IMO.
But I have genuine documents and definitely I should return back after one month, as I have a job here, my kids are studying and will have their mid term exams in December and even my Old father is there with me whom I should take care. Really we want to participate in my brother's House Warming Ceremony with my family and return back immediately and have no other intensions. How can I convince them about these situations. Can I opt local language for interview as the VO person will be an Indian and may better understand my situation. And even I am not that much fluent in English and can't explain all these things properly. Please suggest me, as we desperately want to gather together on this auspicious occasion. My whole family is very much disappointed as we want just a Visiting VISA and not a work permit. We just want to spent some time with my brother's family and not more than that. I actually travelled to UK through my office on business VISA for about one month in 2012. It was in my Old passport which I carried with me but not showed as she didn't asked, is that a problem.

You are applying for whole family and they don't take a chance with that. If you apply only for yourself and maybe your wife there may be more convincing proof of ties that you will come back for your children. This is my personal opinion.Last edited by rcmax; 09-28-2016, 10:40 AM.

I also understand that as Indians we take responsibility of old parents living with us very seriously. Unfortunately the VO will not think in those terms (call it cultural difference). They have a set criteria which is very tight and ridiculous and if someone falls outside it they deny visa. Lot of genuine people like you get affected. As I said applying again will not gain you anything because your circumstances have not changed.
