  • visitor visa re-entry for parents questions

    Hello All,

My mother has multiple entry visitor visa. She last stayed for 3 months in 2009. We are planning for her visit again in 2017. Her visa expires in 2019. Needed some help with questions.

    1. What documents would she need to show at the POE for rentry? Does she need to have all the latest documents which she showed while getting the visa?
    2. I was on H1 when I had sent her the documents for her visa but now i am on green card currently not working. Does it affect her tourist visa in anyway?
    3. If we need to send invitation letter this time does my husband have to send it with me not working?

Thanks for the help in advance.

    1. She already has the visa, therefore she will not need any documents.
    2. No. Her visa has nothing to do with you or your status here. (Meaning, the visa is independent) She could come here to take a vacation without it having any purpose for visiting you or any family here.
    3. No invitation letter is required.

This is my opinion and not legal advice. Use of this information is strictly at your own risk.
