  • Recently moved to US on L2 and need to apply mom's visitor visa as im due in 2 months

    Hello everyone,

I have read on various forums that you should not mention pregnancy as the reason to apply for parents visitor visa.
But I have just moved to US (Nov '16) and I'm due in Dec end. We need to apply my moms visa asap so that she can be here as early as possible. We are confused it we should mention my pregnancy as the reason for applying her visitor with such an urgency. Wouldn't it raise a red flag if we say she is going to be here to visit us and travel, when we ourself got in US in Nov and want her to join us in Dec.

Is it better to avoid the reference to pregnancy and apply both parents (mom and dad) visa simultaneously for tourism/visit purpose?

Tourist visa is for tourism. That is what you need to mention. Rest is a problem.

It does not matter if you just came to the US. Your mother can still visit the US.

      Thanks for the prompt reply.

I have one more question, I'm planning to apply just for my mom's visa (as my dad is retired and does not have tax documents to submit) my mom has a small business. Would it be OK to just apply for her or it's better to apply for both of them together?

We are submitting sponsorship form as well, and mentioning that she would be visiting us and we are going to travelling together.
