Minimum period of stay to act as sponsor

Is there any required no of months that a peron should stay in the US to act as a sponsor??
my husband is on H1 visa from feb 8th this year.I am my mom are planing to go to Us in july(I have applied for dependant visa and my mom for visitor visa).
I wanted to know if the time period of my husabnds stay in the us is enuf to sponsor my mom.He wud be able to show $5000 during the visa interview time.

Secondly: Is submitting tax documents of last 2 yrs a must since my husband doent have the same.

Hi

1. there is no minimum required stay to sponser, he shud be able to show that he will be able to sponser two (not just one in your case) or you can show you have funds to travel.

2. Just explian why you don't have the tax documents

Personally I feel that you and your mom should go seperately for visa. You getting a dependent visa shouldn't be a problem. But your mom should be able to prove that she will not stay with you in USA for ever. Make your mom's case strong and good luck to both of you. W2 is not required if he did not work in USA last year. Take all the pay-stubs.

You can try with 2 paystubs, 3 months bank statements with enough balance to support the applicants, if you dont have W2's.

Another quick question.....
Even if i and my mom apply separately ,must she reveal that she is travelling with me.Also even if she doesnot, they would be able to identify that i have not yet travelled to US with the help of my passport copy that i provide(along woith my husbands.) how do we face that......
