  • Parents Visitor visa denied

My parents went for their first interview and got denied a visa per section 214(b).
-My father still works in India and my mother is a housewife, all children settled and married, I am the only child in usa.
-I have sponsored them, I am on an H1
-They asked for tax returns which were the only documents missing.

I do not understand if visa was denied based on missing tax returns or some other circumstances? It is not clear. They only said in the letter that it was denied based on 214b.

Should my husband sponsor next time cos he has better salary?

I would appreciate any information or suggestions.
    Thank you! :

I think visa is rejected for following reasons…
    - Only one child
    - Drawings per annum is bit low
    - Bank balance is also bit low
I think it is better to sponsor showing ….
    - Strong ties to show that your parents would go back. As you father still working, get a letter from that office.
    - With good drawings and balance 5k per person
Refer to this forum for many threads for rejection under only one child case …

Thank you RK for the reply!
Actually, I am not an only child, I meant only child in USA, my brother and sister are in India, married and have kids. My father did have all applicable letters from his office.
But yes, your bank balance and income reasons make sense.
