visitor visa extension

hi i have a 10 year multiple entry visa valid till july 2026.this is my first visit to usa my son is on f1 visa and we came here on august 9. my visa stamp is upto 9 feb 2017.however i am going back to india on dec 21st. my son wants me to help him during his next semester. i am planning to come back in feb. do i have to apply for an extension of visa? i visited the immigration office to enquire. was told that my current visit expires upon exiting and can come again but they can't vouch for what the officer does at port of entry. she said there is no need to extend. i am confused now. can you please guide me

You don't need to apply for extension now because you are leaving before your I-94 expiration date.
