A friend is prepared to sponsor me to come to America (I currently live in the UK). I am hoping to get a visa for a year through this sponsorship and then when I get to the US look for an employer to take over the sponsorship.

I am engaged but no dependents and own my own property. I plan to sell my property to get money to go to US (if my visa application is successful). My fiancee will stay behind and will hopefully wait for my return.

Do you think I will be successful in getting a visa?

Do I start the application process or is it the friend who currently lives in the US that starts the process?

    Thank you for your advice.

Are eligible for Visa Waiver program? Please read more information at, https://www.immihelp.com/visa-waiver-program/

If yes, i would suggest that and you can stay here for 90days instead of friend sponsor your visa.

Please find visitor visa process at,
This is not a legal advice. Use at your own risk.

I hope to stay for a year, which is why I wanted my friend to sponsor me. If I get to America,i would look for an employer to take over that sponsorship
