What is the Step by Step Process for B1-B2 Visa?

I am new to this forum.

I am planning to visit my brother and his family in USA.

I wonder how to start the application process using Form I-864 Affidavit of Support. There are so many requirements and steps, and I am confused as to how to start the process. Should we begin with Form I-864 or the visa application form? or any other checklist ?

I would be grateful if someone could guide me in this regard.

No. That is only for family-based immigrants. The nonbinding Affidavit of Support for nonimmigrants is I-134. But you are mainly applying on your own merits and an I-134 from someone in the US shouldn't normally be necessary.

I still couldn't understand.

I (alone, not any other family member) want to visit US for 30 days. For this I need to show funds in my account. But I have limited funds, $5000

So my brother said, he would sponsor me and show his tax returns, bank statement, his property details.

So for this scenario, we would need I-134 or I-864 ?

And how should we start the process ? Would my brother fill the relevant form and submit to NCA and then send me a copy ?
