Changing "Purpose of Visit" on DS-156

I have taken VISA appointment for my in-laws couple of months back. VISA Appointment is next month. While filling up DS-156 at the time of taking the appointment, I made a BIG MISTAKE.

For the question "Purpose of Visit", I have answered saying, "To help our Pregnant daughter". But recently I have learnt that we should never give that as a reason.

Now I can go and edit the DS-156 and take a new printout. But do they keep track of the changes we make. Do they maintain history?

Did anyone of you been through similar situation?

Thanks for the link Mr. Ram Kumar...

But the information in the link(s) doesn't tell me if they keep track of history of changes we make to the online forms (DS-156).

Changing the purpose of visit from "help pregnant daughter" to "Tourism and Social visit" makes a big difference if they can track the changes.

Did anybody have a similar experience? First hand information is always great for circumstances like this where there are no hard and fast rules.

If it is editable , do it right away in order to have a shot at it. If it is not editable cancel the appointment and get a new one.
