B2 Visa for a Freelance IT

Hi,

I’m a Filipino and would like to ask assistance regarding applying a visa in US.

I will accompany my friend and his son to US on May and would like to apply for a tourist visa B2.

My friend is a New Zealand Citizen and have been staying in US for 10 years before, and he would like to sponsor my trip.

Just to give a brief info about me, I only work freelance as an IT and currently staying in Bali, Indonesia for 2 months now.

I met my friend in Phuket, Thailand for about 3 years now.

I'm not working full time since August 2016 this year.

Also, what is the best approach to get a visa?
