Mother's passport does not have SURNAME, Need input on DS160 & USTravelDocs profile

Hi everyone,
I am in need of input for my mother's DS160 and USTraveldocs profile. She is going for interview next week, and hence kindly let me know ASAP if there is a need to update her DS160.

Her "First name" is printed on the India passport, but there is no surname.

I have filled DS160 and US travel Docs profile with:
First Name = FNU
Surname = FirstName from Passport

I want to confirm if this is right thing to do? Or Do I need to keep DS160 and USTravelDoc profile in sync with passport, and the officer himself will adjust it for the Visa?

First Name = FNU
Surname = FirstName from Passport
