          Sejal,
I am also trying to get my parent visa at mumbai consulate. Did they have their interview in english or gujarati
          (or any other language?)
My parents had their first two attempts in gujarati and got rejected... ofcourse first time my sister who was 17 was also accompaning them and the second time when my mom applied alone they just rejected without looking at anything at all...
Now the third time they are planning on interviewing in english...
I heard its easier in english as there is no miscomunication...
Cases like your parents give us hope!!!

Good luck to them and enjoy their stay with you here!!!

            Hi
My parents had their interview in english all three times.
First two times they had same experience as your mom, they didn't look at any papers. Asked few questions.
This time they asked same questions as asked before and same answer anything had chagned since their second trial.
I had writen a detailed request letter to consulate stating the reasons why they will go back.
And between their first rejection and second rejection i had approached my local senator but when they went second time that didn't help at all.
But, only thing that we thought could been positive is that they went third time after one year from second time rejection whereas first two attempts were at one month gap.
That time I was expecting so we wanted them to be here.
            But, it never worked out.
Let me know if u any more questions.

              Sejal,
here are some questions I had ....
              1. What visa are you on?
              2. Did you sponsor them -if yes what all documents did you send if no what all docs did they take along... (anything diff from what immihelp suggests??)
              3. Can you send me your sample letter of reasons why they would go back...
-in my case both of us sisters are here, no immidiate family in india for my parents except their brothers and sisters and their extended family...

My parents will be trying again after 2 years -
              4. Do they ask what is different from the last time they applied...? Do they consider this attempt of trying after visa rejection?
              - for them nothing has really changed except now even my sis is here..

-my parents were planning on sponsoring themselves and showing their business as a strong tie to go back... they have their family there but other than that i cannot think of anything.

Ans. to ques.1 : I am on H4, my husband is on H1 he sponsored them all three times.
Ans. to ques 2: My husband sponsored them preparaed each docs. from immihelp including affidavit of return assurance we had asked visa for 4 months. Property affidavit to show strong financial ties.
Ans to ques 3: in my parents' case my elder brother is in India with his family and my parents live together. That is the stronges social tie for them.
Only myself is here all other family is in India.
I would say don't change sponsorship.
                you continue sponsoring them.
Their was no major change from second attempt to third attempt as my father is retired and mother is housewife.
                Thanks
