  • Visitor visa for Brother, Sister in Law and their son

I currently hold H1 B visa and in US for 4 years. I have processed B1 for my parents. They got it and traveled once. Now am planning to initiate visa for my brother currently working in a private sector more than 10 years of experience. Sister in law is homemaker and kid is 4 years old.

What is the additional documentation required to get their visa done apart from general documentation?

Letter from your brother's employer, his financial documents, tax returns etc. If they can self sponsor that would be better otherwise you can sponsor no problem at all. Mention duration of the trip in the DS160 form. It should not be too long, short duration like 4-6 weeks if he can provide proof of leave from the employer will be helpful.

Visitor visa process and list of documents,
This is not a legal advice. Use at your own risk.

      Hi All.
I intend applying for a Tourist visa for me and my wife and 2 kids (boy and girl), having been invited by my Brother who is a US Citizen. However, my intention is for my Brother to file form I-130( petition for Alien Relative) as well as for Change of Status for me upon arrival.

I need the following counsels viz:

      1. should I apply alone and file for my Family once I succeed, in view of the uncertainty involved?

      2. What are the chances of succeeding?

      3. How long will it take to get my I-30 form treated, considering the fact that the processing will be on while I'm in the US?

      4. If my I-30 is approved, how long will I wait to be able to bring my Family to the US?
