  • Visitor Visa (Tourist, B2) with 1 cannabis caution 18 years ago

    After some advise....

I'm due to go on a honeymoon in 8 weeks time to New York with my husband. decided to get our ESTA's sorted early. turns out his has been rejected as he answered yes to the question about arrests.

18 years ago he was arrested and cautioned for buying an ounce or half ounce or weed (which will have been a class B then).

We're applying for an ACRO tonite and paying £80 for the premium service to get it back in 2 days, but are we kidding ourselves getting a VISA and getting it in time?

Also, is it worth paying for a Visa Agent to deal with this for us? so many of the questions on the visa have such spurious answers, we're having to google so much of it!

If someone is saying they can get you US visa in two days, don't go with them.

US visa process takes much longer.

No way to sidestep routine processing of a US visa. Any agent promising a visa within days is only out to make a quick buck. Stay away from scrupulous agents.

Sorry, I should have been clearer.... the 2 days is for the ACRO, thats a service the police offer, I realise that the visa itself takes longer, I'm just wondering if 8 weeks is enough??

The agent that we are looking at going with works with a tour manager who recommended them to me. regularly gets band members with convictions around the world on work visas.

Worth a try.. 8 weeks depends on the embassy workload at your location.
