Applying for new B1/B2 visa before expiration of current one

I have a B1/B2 visa that is valid until mid August, 2017. As I expect there to be a high number of applications for visas just before the summer holidays, I was hoping to apply for a new visa well in advance. I was wondering how many months before the expiration date of my visa can I apply for another?
