Hi Friends,
Today 17/01/2017 , I had my B2 visa interview at US Embassy Colombo. My appointment time was scheduled at 7.15 am. There were around more than 100 applicants for different category of visas. When I enter the embassy premises after the security checking, I was given a token number. One old american lady came to me and explained about the procedures of finger printing ...etc. After they have taken the finger printing , I was asked to sit in front of the interview booths. There were 8 applicants before me. Then I was called to the room no.6. The officer was a woman aged between 35 - 45.
VO: Good morning.
Me: Good Morning Madam.
My current passport , DS160 confirmation page and my covering letter were taken already at the finger printing counter. So, VO had my passport already.
VO: What is the purpose of your visit ?
Me. I am going for tourism
VO: Have you been to any other countries before?
Ne: Yes madam, I have been to UK several times and KSA, Thailand
VO: Where do you working?
Me:Told
VO: What is your position in the company?
Me: Director
VO: How long you going to stay in United States?
Me: For 5 days and from there I will be leaving to UK to stay there for 7 days.
VO: Ahh.. OK fine.
She was typing something on the computer for about 2 minutes.. Then the Golden words came " Your visa is approved, you can collect it tomorrow at 3.30 PM". I was so happy. She gave me a white paper which states that the visa is approved and instructions about passport collection time....etc.
All I can say is whoever go for visa interviews, be confident, prepare your self, Do not get panic or nervousness, it is your day - try your best...
