B2 visa appointment confirmation question

Hello, I've scheduled a B2 visitor visa interview for my parents-in-law. In the confirmation page, my mother-in-law is shown as primary applicant and my father-in-law is shown as dependent. Even if I login to the cgifederal website to view my appointment history, in that it shows "IsDependent" field as "true" for my father-in-law and "false" for my mother-in-law.

Does it really matter who is primary applicant and who is dependent? In reality, my mother-in-law is dependent on my father-in-law.
