Hi everyone! This is the first time for me here on the site, and I'm not really sure if this is the right spot on the forum for this message, but I've been searching for an answer to this and was hoping someone might be able to help me out with any info or personal experience they have. My friend is a British citizen, residing in Liverpool, and has never been to the U.S. I have been helping her to make the necessary preparations, e-passport, ESTA form, and so on. Unfortunately, she has a health disorder, known as BPD, or Borderline personality disorder, and although she has had the disorder for years, and taken the necessary medications and seen her therapist regularly, she has one documented case of self harm against her from her early twenties, and she is worried that it will make her inadmissible to enter the U.S, due to the requirements against mental health disorders for customs. I've looked at the Visa Waiver program and the Medical Waiver, but it seems to revolve in a circle that offers very little assistance. She plans to consult her doctor and the U.S. embassy in London for further information, but we are both seriously concerned about what she needs to do to be be sure of her eligibility to enter. She plans to visit me here in Texas for no more than two weeks for vacation only so it seems simple, but I don't wan't to leave anything to chance.
