Hi,
My mother is 77, widowed and lives alone. Does she have to travel to Chennai for a visa interview or can she get it by mail? Does the waiting period of 163 days apply if she can get it done by mail? Please help.

Everybody has to appear personally for interview

Everyone 14-79 must appear for the interview. Their policy is " If you think you can travel to the US, you must be able to come for the interview."
