Imp question regarding Noc

Hi

My parents have their visa appointment on Apr 21st and my mother is a govt employee.she didnt get her NOC from the Directorate till now.My question is
Is it possible to change her occupation to house wife in DS-156 before going to the interview ? or A leave sanction letter from her local office is sufficient?

Any guidance regarding this is needed.

I don't think its a good idea to lie abt the employment. What if u get a 221(g) requesting more info. and they can find out abt it. So better say the truth abt employment.. This is just my opinion.

(Yes, a NOC is required stating her travelling to USA along with approval of the leave for the specifed time.)
