  • Visa Renewal from a different country

My B1/B2 visa expired last October (it was issued on October 13th, 2006 and valid for 10 years), and for what I read on the website, I can renew it attending by just for the fingerprints appointment.
But currently, I don’t live in the country where I’m from, I mean, I am Venezuelan, and my last visa was issued in the US Embassy in Venezuela, but now, I live in Chile, and I wouldn’t like to go back to Venezuela just for this procedure.
My question is, can I program my appointment to do the renewal through the US Embassy in Chile, and if so, does the same process still apply (just fingerprints), or would I have to go through an interview? On the other hand, how long do I have to renew it?

Thanks for the information you can provide me.

As per my understanding, for visa interview waiver eligibility, You have to go to Venezuela. Otherwise, you have submit new visa application and attend the visa interview in Chile.
