  • applying visa for job interview

I may have a job interview from a college in the USA. Is B2 visa the appropriate one to apply for?
Currently I am not employed in my home country, what else supplementary docs I can validly show that I am not intend to stay after the job interview? Is my application guaranteed a denial?

More background about my previous status:
I used to be on H1B for about 3 years for doing research in universities. At the end of last Dec my contract ended and I didn't secure another job offer starting this Jan. In order not to have out of status violation I moved back to my home country. I have only moved back for a month; that is also why I am not employed.

    Thanks for help!

Can't they do skype or phone interview? Your visa application is most likely not guaranteed denial because your were in US for 3yrs on H1visa.

Even though if you apply for B2 visa. Visa officer will ask reason for your visit and you should not lie. Tell the truth and let visa officer decide for approval or deny.
This is not a legal advice. Use at your own risk.
